Two teams through to a preliminary final, two in mothballs, four others soldiering on in semi-finals. RoCo & Finey put it all under the microscope.
Footyology Podcast with RoCo & Finey: It’s a finals feast!
Some call it the best weekend of the football season, four big finals to be played out. In Episode 8 of the Footyology Podcast, RoCo & Finey dissect all the action, the winners, the losers, the ramifications, the sublime, the ridiculous, you name it! That’s A Wrap breaks down the action game by game, Hot Or Not hands out the brickbats and bouquets, Media Watch looks at how TV goes about covering the September action, and the Rant-Off gets a little deep and meaningful. You want football opinion? Here’s ours!
Who said anything about a panic? By panic do you mean media storm? No panic by me as a fan or many tiger fans with their heads screwed on. . Or panic by the club who made a final offer months out and stuck to it, if that’s what you call a panic you and I have different meanings of the word.. Dustin Martin would be lucky to even be our best player, I still think that accolade goes to Alex rance.. But hey without him the tigers wouldn’t even make the 8..what a garbage line, we were 2 very close losses from finishing top of the ladder.. 1 good player in 22..
Vincent, if that were true, there would have not been such a panic about Dustin possibly going to the Roos
Lovin’ the podcasts, but I kinda miss seeing you and Finey looking like Peter Finch in “Network” during the rant-off!
I used to take really look for fineys opinion, but your comments that with dusty Richmond wouldn’t make the top 8 is just so pathetic.. I’m a little annoyed Rohan didn’t hold him to account, coz that is just not true at all
I HOPE ONE DAY FOX GET TO SHOW THE GRAND
FINAL.NO ADS DURING QUARTERS IS THE GO ALL YEAR.
WHY NOT IN MAIN MATCH OF YEAR?
Good discussion on TV coverage and touching on a lot of points I agree with. The comparison to other sports coverage, in particular NFL is apt. I often wonder if it because I am more emotionally involved when watching AFL that I find the coverage frustrating. Sure, that might be part of it, but I know I’m not the only one.
I’d like to hear your thoughts on the work NFL Films do if you’re familiar with the work. I think they do a great job in capturing the drama of that sport. Similar hype packages I see before AFL games are normally nothing more than montages of players celebrating goals.
Keep up the great work.
This is CLEARLY the best footy show on either radio, TV or online. Great stuff, guys.
In the round 3 game at the MCG, the Eagles had 4 more scoring shots than Richmond, missing 3 sitters and lost by 11. Eagles were in front up until early in the 4th quarter.
This podcast is that good it should be taken up by one of the TV stations or at the very least SEN1116.
Great work guys !
