Congrats to Rowan and Mark for another quality podcast. Really enjoy both the preview and the post round wrap up each week and feel fortunate there is some quality analysis amongst the flood of commercially driven dross thats out there.
However, as a long suffering Blues supporter, I nearly choked on my breakfast cereal ROCOco pops, ( miniature sherrins in a box) when Finey suggested Tex Walker would be a good fit for the Blues. Sorry Finey. Worst idea ever.
If Patrick Cripps is your favourite player in the game, then you will agree, he desperately needs QUALITY inside midfield help or his body will be cooked way before its time trying to shoulder the bulk of the contested ball winning duties.
As a fan i would hope our list management team are fixated on this as our number 1 priority. Crippa has shown faith in the rebuild by signing for 3 more years so repay the champ by getting him help by recruiting another quality ball winning beast. Even if it means paying overs.
Recruiting a player like Walker would be a backward step for a club such as Carlton. He might be a likeable rogue but he can’t crash packs anymore, he doesn’t take contested grabs enough, if the ball hits the deck he can’t create pressure. He’s become a one dimensional player in an era when the gorilla forward needs a few tricks, or at the very least have the engine required to roam upfield, a la Hawkins.
Please god NO! Let Walker’s rapid decline continue at the the Crows or if he is traded, let him whiteant your Saints instead.
